Western Carolina University Graduate Programs in Asheville
Western Carolina University offers more than 30 master's degree programs and a Doctor of Education through the Asheville Graduate Center on the UNC Asheville campus. The majority of the programs focus on the areas of business, counseling, education, health sciences, nursing, public affairs and technology. Western enrolls several hundred students in classes through the Asheville Graduate Center. You will find that many of the classes are small, creating opportunities for collaborative learning and individualized instruction.

Scheduling and Facilities
These programs of instruction, intended primarily for the adult professional student, are taught in late afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Western Carolina University utilizes the educational facilities and resources of UNC Asheville and maintains an office in Karpen Hall adjacent to that of the Asheville Graduate Center. Almost all WCU courses are taught by regular faculty members who travel from Cullowhee. Advising for most programs is available, by appointment, through the WCU Programs in Asheville office. The Nursing Department is located in the Haynes Center on the Enka campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, about 20 minutes west of downtown Asheville.

Western Carolina University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor’s, master’s, education specialist and doctoral degrees and holds special accreditation from more than 40 states and national accrediting agencies.
