Welcome
Welcome to the Asheville Graduate Center of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. UNC Asheville's mission is fulfilled, in part, through our responsibility for and leadership of the Asheville Graduate Center.
The Asheville Graduate Center is an important complement to our core mission- providing an outstanding undergraduate experience for traditional-aged college students. Our ability to respond rapidly to greater Asheville depends, to a great degree, on the Asheville Graduate Center to provide masters and doctoral programs, professional education programs, test preparation courses, and The Great Smokies Writing Program - UNC Asheville's community writing program.
The Asheville Graduate Center serves the post-graduate, professional, extension/distance and continuing education needs of Western North Carolinians including:
- Graduate degree programs from four universities, from the master’s level to Ph.D. degree,
- The Great Smokies Writing Program,
- Test preparation courses for standardized tests such as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and Law School Admission Test (LSAT),
- Teacher Training programs such as Effective Teacher Training/ Substitute Teacher Training and the Advanced Placement Summer Institute.
The Asheville Graduate Center continually evaluates and updates its course offerings to meet the needs of Western North Carolina residents. Our staff welcomes your suggestions and ideas for future degree and program offerings.
